(Reuters) – U.S. President Donald Trump has overtaken Democratic opponent Joe Biden to stand while the favorite to win the 2020 U.S. Presidential election on Europe-based betting exchange Betfair, the exchange stated on Wednesday.
Trump’s odds, reflecting wagers matched on the peer-to-peer betting networking, stood for evens, Betfair Exchange said, versus 21 20 for Biden.
Betfair Exchange claimed 4 bets of more than 10,000 weight ($13,362) had been placed on the platform over night, of which three had been on Trump, while the greatest stake of the strategy so far, a 50,000 pound choice, was placed on the Republican nominee over the weekend.
These bets in part aided Trump to carry the lead, after being neck-and-neck with Biden earlier this week, completing an incredible recovery in the betting areas.
“In August, Trump had the most awful odds for re election of any sitting President in defeat and history to Biden was searching more and more likely,” Darren Hughes, spokesperson at Flutter Entertainment system Betfair Exchange, claimed.
A Reuters/Ipsos national thoughts and opinions poll on Wednesday showed forty % of voters that are registered support Trump, as opposed to 47 % who said they are going to vote for Biden.
Biden’s lead is basically the same over the previous three weeks, during which the two people held conventions to nominate their applicants Trump and Biden for the presidency.
